Orvis Endorsed Hunting Dogs

For immediate release
Pine Shadows of Brainerd,
Minnesota was among the
first kennels in North America selected
to become an Orvis Endorsed Hunting Dog Breeder
and Trainer. Most sportsmen are well
acquainted with the prestigious Orvis Endorsement
of wing-shooting and fishing destinations as
well as their fine line of products.
In 2003 Orvis introduced the Orvis-Endorsed Hunting Dog
Breeding and Training Program. To quote their goal for the program, "The
program is designed to promote and uphold the highest standards in dog
breeding and training to introduce Orvis
clients to the best breeders and trainers in the world."
To establish the groundwork for a program worthy of the trust of their
customers, Orvis spent the last 12 months
compiling a short list of the best hunting dog
breeder and trainers in North America.
A team of experts visited these kennels to ensure that each operation met
their strict requirements and standards. In addition to the field inspection,
and the recommendation of industry peers, Orvis
recognizes the following criteria as essential to an endorsed operation: AKC
and/or American Field trial Registered; hip certification (OFA) for parents;
thorough, documented medical records and updated shots on delivery.
In the quest to find the perfect hunting
companion, Orvis is confident these
operations are the best in business.
Mark Haglin, owner of Pine Shadows,
was very pleased with the Orvis accreditation. "It is gratifying to
receive this recognition from the
sporting world. We are in our twenty-eighth year of breeding and training
English Springer Spaniels and continue to
provide our clients with high
quality gundogs that are equally at ease in the field and in a family. We
look forward to serving Orvis clients"
