Certainly the foundation of your Daybreak
hunting experience is the tremendous wingshooting
grounds. To establish and maintain this the habitat plan is a dynamic
tool involving year around planning and implementation with CRP, marshes,
waterways, crop rotation, food plots, pest control, field roads, and
shelter belts. The results include plentiful populations of upland game
and a variety of
accessible hunting areas.

There are also some facilities to enhance your
visit. The POST is our hunters’
headquarters for lunches and after hunt receptions.
A trap shooting range, locker rooms, and the Hudson
House fireplace and dining rooms add to your comfort.

Three houses are on the property, each with comfortable
guest rooms for overnight guests. Their names, Hudson, Campbell, and Katy,
honor the rich history of the land.
Campbell operated his trading post, an agency of
the Hudson Bay Company, here on the property in 1822. For many years a
portion of Daybreak was the Katy Hereford Ranch owned by the Taylor
family.
