I feel remiss for not having written previously to report how fabulous Skip is and how much my family and I enjoy having him.  He has been a wonderful addition to our family and is an outstanding hunting companion for me, both for pheasant and in the duck blind.

I recently returned from an annual duck and goose hunting trip down on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and want to report that Skip worked wonderfully from blind and boat for ducks, and also retrieved a downed goose from the field...quite a sight and only wish that I had remembered my camera!  He is so versatile and his nose is outstanding.  We hunt together regularly throughout the pheasant and waterfowl seasons and he is absolutely great.

Greetings from Ohio. I am sending you proof that there are pheasants in Ohio. Dulce and I have been enjoying the pheasant hunting this fall here with friends who also have Springers.

Dulce has really acclimated herself to hunting the briar patches which are plentiful here. She has been doing a beautiful job of retrieving and hunting down wounded birds.

I am sure glad I made that trip out to Brainerd two years ago and ended up bringing Dulce back to Ohio. She has been a joy to our family and a wonderful hunting companion.

I hope all is well with your family and wish you all a blessed Christmas.

Hello Pine Shadows crew,

Just thought I'd drop you a quick note and picture on my first birthday.  My hunting partner's daughter (Nicole) cleaned her garage the other day and brought me a gift, my first grouse.  I like it a lot and my partner likes it because it forces me to grab the body and not a head or tail!  I'm enjoying quality time with my partner, he says I'm becoming much more attentive and following directives better.  I can't wait for hunting season!

Enjoy my photo,  Storm

Hi guys...

I went to McCollum’s Hunting Preserve this last week-end and had a wonderful time hunting pheasants...as you can see in the photo we had pretty good luck. The weather was kind of rainy but we had a great time...36 out of 50 birds so that was pretty good for my first official hunt.

I really like to retrieve the pheasants after they go down - I even take them from Lars’ dog and bring them back to Ron....that's good right?

I will let you know how the North Dakota pheasant opener goes - I've heard that the wild birds are a little smarter but I am certainly up for the challenge.

Oh yeah, Mom says I really do have an on and off switch - I go to work with them every day and just lay on my pillow in the office.  Hope to see you soon.

We heard from the Dixon’s who have Gwinner. He is hunting on their plantation in Alabama. Here he is on the wagon with Shane who drives the mule team of Bo and Doc. Gwinner gets off the wagon to flush and retrieve the birds that the pointers find.

The Waxbergs are really enjoying the raising of Bailey. They are learning to handle Bailey in the field. They especially like the camaraderie of fun trials and   group training sessions.
